Memoirs of Madurai...

It is quite reasonable, that Iam looking forward for next week.Visiting Madurai after 6 months.Quite long gap in the past 4 years. My Madurai...I had been an ardent resident in the temple city for 19 years ...Mixed emotion springs whenever I think about my home. For me it is the best place in the entire world..!

When I shifted to chennai in 2004 , Initially,I dint have regrets of missing MDU...It was while I returned back to Chennai after visiting my home for the first vacation,I started missing MDU badly.

*The tasty, pure ground water in my home.
*My home is two storeyed, the pleasure of having liesure time in the first floor of my home reading books and novels.
*Video Games ,carrom.
*The garden around my home.
*The fresh wet smell of red-soil(semman) after watering the plants.
*Tasting (my garden cultivated)Guava + chilli powder.
*The respectful way how Iam addressed by the folks in my residential area irrespective of the age.
*The temples.
*The pooja room @ my home. The prayers that I chant before every Internal-exams,semester.
*The morning walk breathing the fresh air.
*Tasting the fresh raw milk (karandha pasum paal) supplied by the private milk-vendor who has cow @ her home.
*The mild frictional noise (music I should say) that is created by my Granpa's Oonjal (Jhoola) while swinging.
*Trying to stand on the oonjal catching hold of the oonjal's chain.
*The fun while splashing water and drawing big Kolams near the front gate of the home.
*The big teak cot in my home which is more admired than used.It seems that the wood is so costly and it has a beautiful carpentary work.
*The open terrace with privacy.Yes, I have a small space, near the water tank for chatting with my school friends when they come to my home.
*My Poster-colors/oil-paintings,the thermocol /woolen show pieces ,toys thread-works that I make during my vacations.
*Less traffic.Less pollution.
*More Serene.More amiable.
*Iam more myself , less disturbed.

Probably If I had not moved out , I would have never realised these treasures.

The cultural heritage , and the historical importance of the city is well-known.Apart from all these, the memories that the city has fed me will stay with me forever.

Kuselan Music (!?!)

Kuselan audio has been released.G.V Prakash who composed for films like Veyil, kreedam has composed the songs. After listening to all the songs,I tried to hear a few of them again like the one sung by Shreya Goshal, one by Anand sami just to get comfortable with the music and lyrics.

What I felt was this movie could have atleast set a unique record without songs.I could find that the BGM's of one song 'Perinba' have been just replicated from Prakash's earlier movies like Veyil.
Songs of super star movies are usually 'Made hit' by his fans usually for the zeal and the magnetic effect of lyrics. The lyrics in this case is a total chaos (Courtesy:vaali, yugabharathi,Dr. Kridhaya).

I wonder if G.V Prakash was jus given 5 hours to compose 5 songs.Total Crap!

Magnum Opus Dasavatharam set to hit screens!!

Padmashree Dr.Kamalhassan,Pinnacle of perfection, the man behind redefining the standard of Indian cinema through his experiments is ready to take us to the next milestone.Being an ardent fan of his since my age 5,he has made millions of his fans to feel fervent and proud about his work.

Any Kamal film stirs up expectations and curiosity even among the non-fans; even though some seldom admit it! You only have to go back in time and think about some of Kamal’s biggest films since the media explosion of the 1990s and the pre-release hype they generated - Hey Ram, Indian, Thevar Magan, Aalavandhan, Virumaandi and add a ‘10X’ factor to the same expectation in case of Dasavatharam! Kamal’s hard work and perseverance is palpable in every frame of his experiment.Kamal is Unique...So are his Experiments. ;-)

I have been waiting eagerly to watch this magic spell of his for more than a year. The day draws near and YESSSSS,I will be watching it tomorrow with my friends.

Reviews are getting released after the first show.Looks like the screenplay(by Kamalhassan) of the movie is simply mind-blowing.
Scintilating Facts On ‘Dasavatharam’:
  • This is produced by Oscar Films Private Limited's with the budget of 90 Crore.
  • The first three minutes of the film has been said to cost the producer 3 crores. The movie run-time is 166 minutes.
  • This film is shot in super 35 format and world class Digital process. Sony India distributes the film in North India, whilst Ayngaran International sold the film to cinema halls in the United Kingdom, Singapore and the Gulf.
  • Dasavatharam is for the first time being made with 1000 prints on the release week which is unheard of in South Indian cinema and very rare for Indian cinema in general. ‘Dasavatharam’ is being released in 40 countries worldwide which is again first time in Indian cinema.
  • Ten different make-ups of Padmashree Kamal Haasan is done by Oscar Award winning make-up artiste Mr. Michael Westmore whose credits include ‘Mask’, ‘Raging Bull’, ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Rambo’, ‘Star Trek Series’ etc.
  • First time any actor portrays ten different roles in a single film. The previous bests include Sivaji Ganesan's 'Nava Rathiri' (nine roles) and Eddie Murphy's 'The Nutty Professor' (seven roles).
  • A team of Head of Departments, Professors, Academic and Historians of IIT- Madras, Madras University, Tanjore university, Archaeological Survey of India and Department of Culture, Government of Tamilnadu have come forward to collaborate in the movie, giving their ideas, opinions, feed backs, research materials and advice for the authenticity of the script.
  • To simulate a Tsunami sequence for the movie a 5 acre land was filled with water which resembled the back waters of a sea and sets were built amidst water as they are about to be washed away by huge waves created by the U.S. Team.
  • Dasavatharam has been cleared by Regional Censor Board with a U certificate with practically no cuts.
  • The much-hyped trip of Hollywood action star Jackie Chan to its audio release on a chartered flight alone had cost Rs.1 Cr to the producer of the film.
  • The audio launch brought to the open for the first time the raging rift between two reigning giants of celluloid—Kamal Haasan and Rajnikant. Rajni’s absence was deliberate and later disclosed that he had declined Kamal’s invitation.

A reason, A season, or A lifetime...

I have been taking efforts to publish atleast two posts every month.Lots of developments and changes on personal front, that takes my time and condenses my blogging spirit since few months.

Even otherwise, if I had managed to scribe one, it would definitely be a learning from metamorphosis of my life.

Shshshshsh!!!!!!!...... Iam getting older :)

In all these irreversible 25 years of living, there had been times of joy, times of surprise, times of nostalgia, times of disappointment, times of pain, times of failure, times of sharing, times of caring, times of listening...

All the above influenced by incidents and circumstances, people around me.

Incidents and circumstanes...sandwiched with good and bad.Learnt to be thankful for the good ones and take the bad ones as EXPERIENCE or CAUTION.Certain incidents happened for a reason that helped me to learn who Iam and to understand my level of competancy in life. Some circumstances had a seasonal touch to it.It either delighted or lamented me for a measurable time-span.There were incidents/circumstances that had a life-long impact,topsy-turvying my life altogether.

People...different people.Faces...Different faces.
People came into my life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When I figured out which it is,I learnt exactly what to do..

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Exposure to different climates of life,Experience gained out of them,Developing potentials to make our life special are the factors that decides our growth and differentiates us from others.

Making the best out of circumstanes is an art.I sincerely hope to carve and tune this metamorphosis phase of life as much beautiful as possible for me and my loved ones.

Ecstatic Euphony !

'Music'….Couldn’t imagine a life without this 2 syllable …

Without music life would be a mistake…Definitely!

Each one of us would love to listen...keep listening countless times to music of our taste.

I have one big list…romantic/peppy/folk/jazz types.

I listen to this composition "Nee paartha paarvaikoru nanri...." from ‘Hey Ram’ in loop normally…Endless listening.

The composition structure of the song, the instrumentation involved, the notation, the resonance, minute vibrations, the chime of silent notes in the middle, romantic intimacy voiced thru lyrics, the consecutive repetitions of the same lyrics by Asha Bhosle and Hariharan and their synchronisation at end,Vocalized Bengali lyrics hummed in the winy rich voice of Rani Mukherjee in the beginning…Very much royal and intoxicating!

Musicality of this composition as a whole is mind-blowing.Hats off to Maestro..simply GOD level!

Happy Valentine's Day!

"Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people who fall in love" :)) Well...With the celebrations in air,I could see roses, teddies, balloons, flowers, chocolates everywhere.

The programmers become poets, the sky seems to be the limit, the RED color bags its importance today, the mails/sms/greetings jams the network. On my part,I composed the below lines that captivated my mind...
----------------------------------------------------
It is not planned,
It is profound.

It is not about taking,
It is about giving.

It is not about what you say,
It is about what you don’t say but still listened.

It is not about how good you are to me,
It is about how complete Iam when you are near me.

It is not about buying a heaven,
It is about building a heaven in hell’s despair.

I wish all my friends a very happy valentine's day...

Demons of road

Karl Benz will definitely cry…

If he had to travel the way I travel almost everyday back and forth to my workplace in his invention.

Do you know how hellish it would be while traveling in a car driven by a barabarian (a driver with s**t driving skill).

Following are those throny pulses that one could experience.

1) Travel in a four wheeler with your life at risk.
2) The rude relative motion that your physical body undergoes while you are traveling in a car that runs beyond the allowable speed limit.
3) The unparliamentarily words that the pedestrians and public throw at the driver(demon).
4) The polar moment of inertia or the torque your body undergo while the vehicle turns ruthlessly.
5) The wretchedness while travel when the brake is used an accelerator and accelerator as a brake.
6) Overtaking another vehicle in its left and its consequent jerk.
7) Applying belated sudden brakes that might make your face strike against the front seat.

I don’t understand if the existing driving tests these drivers undergo are sufficient enough to grant them license.

History says that the first car engine was designed in Germany considering the comfort factor of a lady traveling in it. But these brutes today have spoiled its purpose.

I had lodged complaints against two cab drivers so far and they were sacked. But still I find this problem of ruthless driving few months after that with another devil called driver.

Irresponsible driving is highly dangerous for the passengers who travel in the vehicle and as well as public. Strict law has to be enforced on such rash driving. I remember an MTC bus driver was almost beaten to death by public while he drove the bus in a killing speed on the marina lane in Chennai six months back.Public is fast in executing the punishments and these drivers deserve that.

[PS: Karl Benz was an engineer and inventor who lived in Germany during the late 1800's and early 1900's. On January 29, 1886 Karl Benz patented the first car.]

Plethora of emotional medley

Iam very glad to pen the first blog for this year. I never dreamt of me publishing posts until few years back.May be because of the below assumptions / predictions that I had.

1) I may not have time for writing instead I would have time to take care of my home as a home maker.

2) I might have 1000 other important things to attend, 100 bigger problems to handle.

3) My profession pays me money and not ‘My Time’.

4) I will not be in a position to scribe interesting articles.

But right now at this moment I would say, me being a responsible daughter taking care of my home (I definitely know my dad wont be reading this page), Skirted by 100’s of problems but still life moving on, My job pays me ‘My Time’ since this being the Christmas-New year fiesta, My friends say that my blogs are interesting to certain extent.

I think the greatest charm behind our living is the suspense in-store for us.Not exactly knowing - where I will be the same day next year, the slew of cozy living that I may/may not get next year, the people with whom I share my joy and sorrow next year, the friends and colleagues around me next year, my emotional status next year.

Keeping aside all that I felt like writing this because I believe it helps me to unleash my emotions.

There had always been tight spots for the past few days when I had to speak in a different tone, in a different way than normal to some of the people who are related to me.

The phenomenon is as simple as this.

Ok…Now me being the main stakeholder and when I declare my decision to some of my so-called relatives or non-stakeholders , I get various kind of reactions. Some are happy. Some are not-happy,Some get furious,Some are neutral, Some overreact.

From my past experiences this “Relative factor” had always been a not so impressive/important/trustable coefficient for me. But having brought up in a traditional background,Iam liable to announce and get the approval from these folks for some important decisions that I make for myself. So irrespective of my likes and dislikes Iam in a position to listen to their reactions. The negative reactions do trigger me & I give it back instantly making it clear that it was only to inform them and nothing more. They stop reacting online and start the batch reaction (Pls relate this to the batch jobs of mainframes technology…mainframe guys! Hope you will know what exactly are the online and batch systems).Batch reaction will process voluminous comments and will involve lots of “How dares” and ‘How come?” and “How idiotic?”…Not instantaneously but in a daily ,weekly, monthly or yearly cycles.

Rightly said… “If you cannot convince them confuse them”…!I really dunno on what context this saying was uttered…But I like this saying today. But even confusing people around you swallows your energy and time.

People differ, the environment surrounding them differ, thoughts and ideas differ,Priority differ, Expectation differ, the good-will bond that they have on me differ,The depth of knowledge and idea that they have about the future trends and society differ,Degree of exposure to the best way of living differ And so are their REACTIONS…

No one can offend us without our permission isn’t? ...

I sincerely hope and pray that things progress and shape out well soon…

I wish all my friends a very happy and prosperous new year!
